Some random thoughts

It is Sunday morning. In just a few hours I will be giving a talk in our sacrament meeting about the importance of early-morning seminary (the class our high school students go to before they go to school). I am reading some talks from General Conference, and just wanted to share a quote from one of those talks.

It says, "If we place our confidence in the Lord, we will be sustained in all of our difficulties, our trials, and our afflictions. This promise from the Lord to His Saints does not imply that we will be exempt from sufferings or trials but that we will be sustained through them and that we will know that it is the Lord who has sustained us." What a blessing to know that the Lord will sustain us--support us through difficult times. Those times will not be taken away from us, but He will give us the strength to get through them. How thankful I am for that principle and for the reality of those words. I hope we all will feel the strength of the Lord in our lives, for He truly is the source of strength, comfort and hope. Happy Sabbath to all of you!

  1. Louise,

Thanks for the thought!!! I love the beautiful pictures from Katie's wedding. Looks like it was a wonderful day. Congratulations to her. I am so thankful that one year after your cancer trial you are doing so well.

  3. Louise, I truly enjoyed your speach....altho my hip and back were killing me and I jumped out of my seat to walk and stand a bit....I still managed to
enjoy your talk. I tried to do Seminary when I was 16th, but had split
shift classes at Carl Hayden Hi ...so was a night gal then too! Went to
classes in afternoon, did studies and skated at nights and slept late, story
    of my life......Chaz too!!
Also enjoyed your better half speaking, Spence is undoubtable my favorite
teacher. Others are really great too, but Spence gets it don pat. Told Chaz about his class and Chaz knew the entire stories before I could
explan and he told me over the same story. Hope he will go to class
    next Sunday, hope I hope.
Last but not least........I took Cathy Crismon a pair of pictures, I painted of "Kolob" and On a Desert Nite "Falling Star". wanted to cheer her mom, If Cathy reads what I wrote about Kolob maybe Gail will open her
eyes just one more time to smile. They know I am hear to talk with or
    if they need something .
